Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Just want to validate this with youuuuu. I am confined to primavera p6 so there's no alternative. please advice if you have recently used primvera p6 or very conversant with p6

1. You plan in p6  lets say PLanA

2. Now you update by selecting project, maintain baseline, then copy. this will save a copy of your original plan.......

3. You select project Assign baselines and make this your project baseline and primary baselines.....

4. Then you update your plan with the actuals and so onnnn.

Now you want to replan so you UNLINK your baseline from your PlanA then you replan..... PLan A <R>

My question is if you want to update the second time or after you have amended your plan wat will you make yoiur baseline.........

please HeLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPp

I have to agree with Gary, I think I've now found your question in about 4 different places and the extra letters on the end of everything is quite annoying ..... this isn't facebook!

Your question is a little vague, what exactly are you trying to do?  The baseline is the target you are working to, contractually I would imagine this will be the first agreed programme, the baseline won't change unless you have agreed changes with the client.  I would personally save a copy of each months submitted programme as a baseline (not assigned), updates/re-forecasts etc can then be made to the plan month on month and if you need to go back you can always recall your saved monthly baseline.

Geoff,

Please don't post the saem question more than once.

Also just a personal thing, but I find it very annoying when you add all those extra letters to the end of your sentences. It makes me not want to answer your questions.

A baseline plan is a plan that is being approved in the first place. If you want to re-baseline, for sure it will need another approval. You can make as many baseline as you want for as long as you can obtain approval.
