Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Guys,

Good day to all!

Just like to know why is it that my bar in a particular activity after making an update splits in to 2? and there are no work suspended date in the activity. My guess is it the activity relationship that does this or i could be wrong. Can anyone explain it further why does it happens.

Thank you in advance.

Ruel

There is an out-of-sequence activity, schedule using Progress override to check.

Ruel,

You are probably just looking at the results of applying the CPM calculation mode of Retained Logic to out-of-sequence progress.  Good luck!

I am also new to P6 & I faced the same situation on one of my test programmes.

I had actually had the settings:

Activity type: Task

Duation type: Fixed Duration & Units/ time

%complete type: Duration.

OD:40

AD:20

RD:20

TD:40

%complete :50%

Now I tried updating showing that after 10 days I still require RD:20, meaning my productivity was less

OD:40

AD:30

RD:20

TD:50

% complete: 50% (still the same)

And I got a split bar and I assumed that since the duration type is Fixed Duratioin & Units per time, It shows that there has not been any progress based on duration in this time frame....

i hope this is what you are facing.....

I would really like to hear from the experts if I have got it wrong some where!!!!

Best regards
