Dear Rodel Sir.

I have 5000 manhours for piping .

however i do not know how many days and nos resources need to finished piping activities,

how to calculate duration and no of resource,

what i am try to do is.

i have piping activities which having 8 hr /day cal.

5000/8=625 days if one person work 8 hr per dya he need 625 dyas,

i assume i ahve 8 resource they will work 8 hr/ day =64 hr/day

mean 625/64=78 days,

nos resource are 8

nos of day OD is 78 days.

i have piping cost which is usd 204545.45

if i will divide 204545.45/5000=40.9 usd / hr.

is this is corect method to calculate resource and nos of day.

Please advise me your best how to handle this schedule it is Bid schedule

Kind regards

Shazia,
Yes you can create histogram using cost. You can use either Activity Usage Profile or Resource Usage Profile. Right click on the profile and select cost instead of hours and tick total.

Shazia,
You can assign Resource Curve on each resource. You can also use future buckets if you wish.

Shazia,
It depends on what type of piping activities. Is it for fabrication, installation, welding, jointing, flange, screwed etc...? Or just installation including in-line items such as valves, instrument, support etc…only.

I suggest inquiring your estimator on how he arrived on the hours and cost.
For a start your approach is fine.
