Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Rola,
Global change is not possible if your data are coming from different rows of a table. That is for Replace functions which is Ctrl+r or Edit-> Replace
Another way is to Export to Excel, modify Activity Name then import back.

lets say we have a building consisting of 35 floors, we inserted activities for the first floor, such as : excavation for first floor.
now you want to copy the activities to the other floors but with out ’first floor:.
i tried substring functions but it didn’t work, you want me to add a UDF and then what? shal i insert floor No in that column? ok but the problem is with Replace function if it exists in p6!!!!!
Any ideas?

Rola,
What is your basis for Global change? It can be done but it requires fields where it coming from (i.e. UDF)
