Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi

I was going to update my schedule today.First I saved copy of my previous schedule in same node where my current project is.

Then Project..Maintain Baselines..Added saved project as baseline.
Then Project..Assign Baseline..as I put it as primary baseline.
Then I compare my current Finish with primary baseline finish(BL1 Finish) in primavera. Now I am facing two problem:
1)Variance shown in column"Variance BL1" in NOT right. It is taking data from somewhere else & is comparing with current finish date.Is there any default baseline settings too or why it is doing so??
2) Variance BL1 Finish=Current Finish-BL1 Finish It should be -vein case of slippage. But it is showing positive value why?.Example 12June 10 - 20June10=-ve Value. But it is showing postive over there. Why??

Jantinder,
When you attached a baseline it will used Baseline Planned date and not Baseline Current Date (Start/Finish) so the formula is BL1 Planned Date - Current Date = Variance. Better check BL1 Planned Date and for more information click below:
