Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Can anyone please advise.

I am trying to update the ’Actual Units’ to a Level of effort activity in P5. Units go in ok, and Remaining units & percent complete do change accordingly, but when the project is re-scheduled, Actual units go back to zero.

I have Duration Type set to ’Fixed Duration & Units’ & Percent complete type set to ’Units’. There is no curve applied to the resource.

Regards

Phil

Check your Project Preferences under the Calculations tab. If you are entering Actual Units manually you need to make sure that the "Recalculate Actual Units and Costs when the duration % changes" is unchecked.

Phil,
actual units and level of efforts does work in P3e. There should be a mistake.
Some questions:
- LoE has no fixed duration, because its duration depends from other activities, so either fixed units or fixed untis/time - but this doesn’t produce your situation.
- Did you create correct relationships (SS then FF)?
- Did a resource report actuals as well - via Timesheets?

Sorry, no answer, just more questions
