Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

hi I have a problem in primavera

I need to put a weight for each activity

the weight is combined of resourses and cost

but I dont have any recorses or cost

in other word each activity have a specific weight so the hole project will be 100 %

I can add a field named weight but i need it to be changed with the persent complete

so if 50 percent of some activity that weighted 1.8
the remaining weight will be .9

and the perpous of the use of it is to calculate the money we should pay every month to the contractor

I know that look stupid you will tell me to define a resorces and there cost and we will have the cost

BUT

that how the boss wont it

In my opinion , you should add a resources called ’weight value’ to your project. The BQ for any perticular activity will be same as ( or multiple of any constant like 100, 1000,.. etc as per your convenience ), what weight value you want to assigned that perticulat activity.
Make sure that all the required link is marked in ’Auto cost rule’, so that p3 will calculate the ’actual to date’ & ’actual this period’ as per OD & RD.

As, Mr Karim said, it will be updated automatically in regards of ’Actual to date’, ’To complete’....etc after each updates, and u can produce your reports in terms of desired weight value.

thanks,

You can make a dummy resource (for example called "activity days"), then assign all of your activities with this resource.

The BQ of this resource will be equal to the OD of each activity.

After that when u update your schedule, the actual units will be updated automatically which will give u the overall actual progress % (u can generate a tabular report for this).
