Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi everybody

I am using a global change that used to work. It copies dates to a user defined field.
It does no work anymore. I get the following message for each field :
Overflow/Underflow condition, custom data item not changed.

Anybody has a clue on what is the problem ?

It all depends upon what type of custom data field you are trying to update. Here is a quick reference chart,

Type Description

C Character
N Numeric (with no decimal places)
P Precision (numeric with up to two decimal places)
SF Start DateFinish Date

Length: The length of the field depends on the type of data selected.

Type Description Length

C Character 1-20
N Numeric 1-10
P Precision Numeric 4-11 (includes decimal point)
SF Start DateFinish Date The length for Start and Finish dates depends on the project’s planning unit and the selected date format. P3 automatically sets the lengths for date data items.

Good luck!
