Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

My client has asked that I provide a report listing only those activities that were progressed or completed for that particulf update period.

I know I could easily creat a code to tag the progressed avtities but would much rather run a filer or global change.

I would be very beholden should any one have a any suggetion?

Keith,

If your using P6 then just go to filter and tick the "In Progress" assigned the time up to the particular Data Date then this will show all the activities you needed.

The best method depends on the reporting or analysis requirements.

No doubt about it.

Rafael,

truncation will show everything for the period.

If activity finishes or starts outside the requiredperiod then reports on these missing parts of activities will not be available.

Only listing of activities?

If you do not report on the amount of progress reported for all progressed fields for the period in question he is getting very limited information I wonder for what purpose.

For example he should be able to see on every progressed activity how many hours and when work was performed, it is relevant to know if work was consecutive or intermittent. He should be able to see how much cost per cost account was allocated. He should be able to see all and filter as per his needs.

Vladimir,

With Spider my approach would be to use first Project Truncation and then look for all updated fields at the truncated job  performance archive, no need for a special filter. Very convenient when for example you update on a monthly basis but you are interested on looking at a period that ends/finish at intermediate dates. Say a period of bad weather or a particular week that finishes on the following month it started.

Best regards,

Rafael

Gary,

it is some version of Primavera. I don't know other software that uses global change term.

In Spider Project it is very easy: just filter activities with positive actual duration and finish later than the start of the period.

I expect that the same in P6.
