Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear Bilal,

You will need to review your Electromechanical Contract requirements in particular.

Usually long lead items include systems like:
Lifts
Kitchen & Laundry Equipment
Lighting Fixtures
Low Current systems
HVAC equipment
Fire Fighting Pumps
Generators and Package Units.

If you are importing Finishes works, then you will need to check on the approval, manufacturing, delivery and custom clearing procedures.

It is always advisable to have all the information in one place in order not to forget bits and pieces. So include you long lead items in your Procurement Section in your Main Schedule and link it to Material submittal and to the start of Construction.

Good luck,

Samer

Dear Bilal,
Most important aspect in Long lead items are the manufacruring time, shipment and custom clearance(if applicable).
You can make this schedule in Excel as a Procurement schedule and put duration from tender preparation to delivery on site+time for inspection in Primavera shedule.
Items related to MEP are mostly the long lead items.

Ashutosh
