Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I Want To Be Back In "Schedule/Cost Engineer" Career !
Dear Fellow Planners,

I’m 54 years old. Had 10+years Schedule/Cost Engineer experience ie. construction, power plants, nuclear, etc.
But that was in the 1980’s. Then went to Sales Career (not related to engineering) and now retired from it. Now my 3 daughters are soon going to universities! I need to come out of retirement. (NO MORE SALES) I Want To Be Back In "Schedule/Cost Engineer" Career! My first thought is to get certified in Project Planning Software Programs (to catch up with current tools of the trade - technology)....

Am I in the right path to - Be Back In "Schedule/Cost Engineer" Career !?

HELP ME, with your comments, thoughts, advise, and any response to my situation.

I Want To Be Back In "Schedule/Cost Engineer" Career !

Antonio,

Theres never a wrong time to do the right thing.

It all depends upon ur skill and aptitude level, weather after being so many years of experience, would u like to like to do the same stuff as of 30 year chap.

u can definitely add value to professional career and will get more respec, but there r even young professionals especially in planning & project control field who are mere position fillers.

So, in toto, There’s a never a wrong time to do the RIGHT THING.

Cheers,

Rav

Although suggestions, proposals etc are really benefitial at this stage but you should send your CV to the Recruiters to seek the results .

Have you tried this option?

May you get good job opportunity based on your vast experience with 10 years experience in Scheduling and Costing?

Hi Anton,

It probably depends on your attitude to be a schedule! I myself think that scheduling still have a lot of career for you to return, and your experience is invaluable for employer.
