Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi

Need your support here.

This is related to Manufacturing planning works.

Activity A (Machining operation) - 15 days

Activity B (Machining operation) - 10 days

Activity C (Machining operation) - 20 days

Activity D (Machining operation) - 25 days

Activity E (Machining operation) - 5 days

Activity F (Machining operation) -  5 days.

All above activities were independent. We are having two resources say LATHE 1 and LATHE 2. Is is possible in Primavera , assigning a resource (either LATHE 1 or LATHE 2) automatically based on the resource availability to get better results (Shortest Project duration).

Thanks in advance

Ram

Rama,

Primavera has no mechanism for automatically assigning resources.

This is called Skill Scheduling.

I also expect that your resources may have different production rates and that you would like to use norms and measure your works in physical units, etc.

If you need this functionaity try Spider Project.
