Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Need some ideas on why this is happening

Using MSP2002 the Project Office has created circa 15 MPP schedules that sit in an overall Master schedule, with a large number of inter project/schedule links. These files are located in the same location on a server, call this the Reporting Location

As part of a programme review, a what if analysis was required. A copy of the files was taken and placed in another directory on the server, call this the What If Location

Now the problem…..

The inter project links, seemingly at random have doubled up ie when looking at activity logic there is a reference to files in the Reporting Location and What If Location.

We have previously relocated the files without the appearance of additional links, however not this time.

We have not been able to replicate the problem as it appears random and does not affect every link and file. I think the issue maybe to do with the acceptance of changed inter project link information, but not sure.
