Chile (SA.CL)

I´m working with Strabag in the PMCHS Project for VP Codelco, this project consists of the transformation of the from open pit mine to underground mine, it is the most important project of this type in the develop in Chile. Budget scope is 450 USD millions, main works: 45 km of tunnels with drill and blast methodology, 3.5 km of vertical tunnels with raise boring methodology, 6.500.000 m3 of earthworks, 52.000 m2 of pavements, 44 km of vertical drillings with different methodologies.

I worked with Echeverría Izquierdo in the development of EPC projects (Engineering, procurement and construction). I was part of the team assigned team for the development of "Capricornio Project - EPC002 SX3", this project is a Solvent Extraction Plant with the objective of the obtention of high-quality Boron-Lithium, the project budget was 80 Million of USD.

I worked for the development of project portfolio of our customer Codelco Chile, the project´s had an investment 70 Million of USD and consisted in the extension of the Tailings Dam located in Huechun for the owner Codelco Chile, the main disciplines were earthworks, civil works, piping works, electrical works, and the management several subcontractors.

This was the first power plant in Chile with combined cycle technology the Project name is Kelar Plant, this plant reuses 100% of seawater. The project investment of $600 Million (USD), main works: installation 2 gas turbines of 350 Ton, 1 steam turbine 250 Ton, 1500 tons of steel structures, 180,000 m3 of concrete, 1,200,000 m3 of earthworks, 2,500 tons of reinforcement bars, water & waste treatment plant, several diesel storage tanks, installation of cooling tower 200 meters of length and other major works.

This project corresponds to the first Google Data Center for Latin America and I worked as a part of the Owner´s Team, the project had an investment of $ 150 Million (USD) with the modality of EPCM project. This project was unique in his type, due the high-tech development, high security standards and execution critical facilities.

I was responsible of the project’s portfolio of the company in order to ensure compliance with the strategic objectives of the company. My main achievement was the increases of the profit margin from 9% until 14 %. I had participation in the following projects:

I had participation from the bidding stage until the project execution providing advice in the contract management, cost management, planning & scheduling, claims and dispute resolution. I had participation in the following projects:

1. Costanera Center Project (The highest tower in Latin-America with 300 meters of high) – Cencosud
2. Extension of Acid Plant – Xstrata Copper Altonorte
3. Extension of Concrete Plant – Cementos Bio-Bio
4. The Confluencia Project (Hydroelectric Power Plant)

I was involved as a part of the owner´s team for the construction of the “New Plant of Cristalerías Chile Llay-Llay”, the project has an investment of $110 Million (USD). The main scope of works were concrete 22.450 m3, reinforcement bars 1.541 tons, steel structures 1.450 tons, earthworks 12.000 m3, backfills 13.500 m3, pavements 20.900 m2, surface constructed 27.000 m2.
