Commencing March 2010, I have joined the scheduling team of Bechtel on their Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone (KPIZ) project (US $ 5.4 billion) in Abu Dhabi for which they are the Program Management Consultant.
The contract 1000-208 works consisted of civil and building infrastructure including:
• Buildings – 56 buildings (various port facility buildings with total GFA 30,000 sqm.)
• Potable Water Pumping Station – 2 no’s; Sewage Pumping Stations – 4 nos.
• Roads including flyovers and interchange – 12 km ( 4 lane and 6 lane)
• Substations – 13 nos.; Communication ducts – 30 km ( etisalat and port special systems)
• 11kV and 0.4kV network – 20 km; Potable water – 14 km; Sewer network – 5 km
Key responsibilities
• Prepared the Master Project Schedule with core team and obtained client approval.
• Prepared design progress measurement tracker incorporating the engineering deliverables.
• Reviewed and approved Contractors baseline schedules and major schedule revisions.
• Identified critical action items and risks and worked with PMC Risk management to develop action and mitigation plans.
• Ascertain delay responsibilities and liabilities and review Contractor completion schedules.
• Reviewed and analyseed Contractors’ EOT claims for time extensions.
