  • Project Site Engineer (Worleyparsons, Saudi Arabia), (2009-2011) $680 Million Ras Az Zawr

 

Reviewed and approved port design including 5 berths, 22 buildings, wastewater treatment plant, desalination plant, 5 substations, 10 kilometers of road, security systems etc..

 

Supervised construction of the above-mentioned scope of work including quality control, safety implementation and cost and schedule control.

 

Assignments:

 

Familiarized myself with project design drawings and specifications requirements, Coordinated with other disciplines in the project engineering function to ensure compatibility of project works, Maintained continuous coordination with construction teams to ensure understanding of project’s design and specification details, Participated in meetings with other project disciplines, subcontractors, etc. and as required to resolve engineering queries or issues raised, Collaborated in producing project progress reporting, forecasts, and as required special engineering reports, Coordinated / liaised with all engineering trades, Performed other essential project engineering / associated duties agreed and assigned by project management, Examined contract documents to identify material and subcontract requirements for the project, Reviewed project construction schedules prepared by the planning department, Reviewed received quotations to verify they were in accordance with project specifications, shop drawings, bill of quantities and delivery schedule met with the project construction schedule, Maintained project SD and materials submittals records (database), Coordinated with assigned subcontractors work packages ensuring contractual requirements were met on quality, safety, program, and budget, Assist the contract manager on settling variation orders disputes and the like.

Reviewed and approved projects design, BOQs, and work breakdown structures.

 

Projects development included: Office towers (QR 2,500 Million The Gate, Navigation Tower), land development master plans ($450 Million, Morocco), water treatment plant ($1,250 Million), waste water treatment plants ($ 120 Million, Beirut), Hospital ($300 Million, Halba, Lebanon), district cooling system ($200 Million, Morocco), MEP design and construction, community housing development plans.


 

 

Assignments:

Review and approved design including 3 hospitals, wastewater treatment plant, district cooling system, 12  high rise buildings, 18 medium size buildings, 5 kilometers of road, 2 underground passes, 1,000 persons auditorium, 5-stars hotel, medium size water treatment plant.

 

Supervised construction for the above-mentioned scope of work including cost and schedule control, quality implementation and safety compliance.

 

Assignments:

Build and commissioned 3 water treatment plants ($3.5 Million Egypt), 1 wastewater treatment plant ($1.5 Million, Valencia), 1 port ($ 180 Million, Malta) , 2 compost plants ($ 650,000, Figueras), 5 waste recycling plants (1.345 Million, Barcelona), 15 kilometers of roads.

 

Assignments:

 

Planned, directed, supervised, and controlled the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned program, project, or subtask, Negotiated changes to the scope of work with the customer. Markets and secures additional work with customer, Mobilized Company resources, through effective liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work, Worked with individual lead discipline engineer to develop budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of a project. Ensured that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans, Oversaw establishment of Work Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and other documents for hazardous waste work, Participated in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of customers, Completed other responsibilities associated with the position as it was appropriate.

 

 

  • Projects Control Manager (Saudi Aramco), (1985-1998)

 

Build and commissioned 3,000 houses housing compound ($350 Million, Dhahran), 1 gas plant ($ 3.780 Million, Safaniya), 1 refinery expansion program ($230 Million, Rastanura), 1 port ($45 Million, Rastanura), 4 waste treatment plant, 2 wastewater treatment plants ($180 Million Abqaiq, Rastanura), 10 school buildings, 5 oil-water separation plants, 150 kilometers 32” pipeline.

 

Assignments:

 

Coordinated 600 hundred projects at all times during 14 years. Prepared and updated programs and schedules in accordance with drawings and contract obligations to indicate the planned and actual progress of each separately identified aspects of the project, Prepared a Provision on monthly basis an up-to-date compilation of all expenditures on the project as compared to the budget, Studied actual performance data to determine: Any variation from the contract programme so that remedial action can be taken at the earliest opportunity, Any variances from the budget and their effect on the final costs forecast, Information concerning unit cost experience on the various phases of the contract, as a potential reference material for future estimates,

 

Implemented project reporting procedures to best suit the needs of the project provided that the overall results fit into the group wide established system, Assisted in developing fully detailed method statements, proposing amendments and/or alternatives as considered advantageous to meet or improve on time and cost targets, Instructed and advised site staff in the compilation of data required to be provided by them

 

Negotiated sub-contracts as delegated by the Project Manager and finalized agreements, Where necessary drew up daily programs showing hourly utilization for main items of plant (i.e. cranes, excavators, etc.), Prepared programmes as required prior to the letting of Sub-contracts to arrange continuity of work for the Sub-contractor with the least cost to the project,  Issued necessary programmes to Sub-contractors on site and checks to ensure that their activities are kept in line with contract requirements, Prepared and updated labour resource programs showing the work force required for each direct trade, and for major Sub-contractors when applicable, Monitored all change orders to the Contract to make certain that all additions and deletions were planned for the time required by the Client, Recommended budget revisions caused by change orders whenever it was warranted, Managed Procurement and monitored the materials inflow and outflow, Managed the Site Engineering Office, where all the Engineering and relevant technical data was processed, analyzed and to support construction, Attended all project meetings concerned with my area of activity.
