Suncor is the largest company, in terms of total revenue, in Canada. More than any other company, Suncor has led the development of the Athabasca tar sands. The tar sands are an area of crude oil deposits located in the northern region of Alberta that hold a potential supply of trillions of barrels of petroleum. As a member of the Central Planning team,  responsible to execute the Planning service offering for various projects with focus on supporting area teams and PC leads. Responsibilities:• Ensured that planning and scheduling requirements are consistent across the organization and projects are implementing all standards, procedures and rules on the schedules.• Worked with the project teams to consolidate the cost and schedule information allowing analysis across all Projects for central reporting and month-end processes.• Provided schedule risk analysis and quality check for all project schedules in different project phases.• Provided assistance as required to support project teams in order to provide accurate and timely expert advice to the project leadership team that may allow proper and effective project steering.• Provided support and training / arranged training for personnel in the suite of scheduling applications.• Provided guidance to areas in preparation of Planning/Scheduling deliverables for different project stages; held project reviews for effective Planning/Scheduling services delivery per plan.• Provided the schedule confidence package for projects at the different project stage reviews.• Facilitated Interactive Planning Sessions with relevant disciplines.• Performed “what-if” analysis and situations.• Developed procedures, standards, guidelines, templates and specifications for planning, scheduling, progress and performance that are being used by all project controls teams of various projects in Suncor. • Took active role in schedule benchmark efforts. • Participated in Projects’ project controls implementation audits.
