Developed manual estimating system, designed to minimize potential mistakes and increase efficiency on bid day, for a public bid market strategy.  Responsible for in-house design of  small commercial design build projects.  Built schools, grocery stores, treatment plants, etc.  Selected to build the prototype Pizza Hut Restaurant, Independence Blvd. and Virginia Beach Blvd., the first new design Pizza Hut in the country.  Using manual Critical Path Method scheduling, built a number of fast food, retail and municipal building projects, completing all work on time.  In-house work performed included sitework, site utilities (storm drainage, water and gravity and force main sewer), concrete and carpentry, masonry, metal studs and drywall.  Used and managed small subcontractors for HVAC, plumbing, and all sitework requiring the handling of submittals, materials ordering, quality control and billings and change orders for those subcontractors, as well as for the contractor.  Trained new estimators, scheduling, project managers and superintendents.  Clients included grocery stores, high schools, churches, commercial office buildings, military construction, industrial, and fast food/retail.
