Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello Everyone,

Just a topic on Change Order but Internal. Say a situation like,

"Its a Engineering Project. The Client has given the Scope of Work and the Contractor has prepared a deliverable list. But at one time Contractor came to know that this deliverables are not enough as per the scope of work. So we need to prepare more deliverables. So internally the Project Manager asks the perticular dicipline engineer to prepare those extra deliverable which was not accounted in the Original Deliverable List." This Change cannot be issued as a change order to Client as it was already in the original scope.

So how would you manage such a Change. Has someone managed such a Internal Change.

Regards

Jithin

yes you can set it up to self populate then you cna set it up to import the activities into p6 from excel

notice it tied it to existing activities on the bakc end and well as kicking off the change order with a constraint date this actviivity should also tie to the begining of the project becasue every activity must have a predecessor and a successor

I have an excel spreadsheet that I can share what is your email address.

Thanks Zoltan,

The schedule part got it. What about presenting it in Excel. Example

CategoryDeliverablesBudget Hours - AICO - BTotal Budgeted Hours - C = (A+B)Change Order - DTotal Budgeted -E = C + D
CTRPFD80 80 80
ICOFlare Dispersion Study 4040 40

So how would you present this to management not by schedule but in some other way. When it is approved by the Internal Stakeholders then you would add it to the schedule as you said. But what about the approval cycle and tracking it in a spreadsheet.

Many ways to do this. Add the activities in and creat a code called ICO internal change order and tag all of the added activities with this code. Do not add any cost assoicated with this change if yo uneed to track then track it in a spreadsheet and out these cost below the line this wil come of of your profit for the project or if you have any contingency.
