(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

How to assign the same baseline to monthly updates?

How can I assign the same baseline schedule to my current schedule every month? Right now I make a copy of the baseline schedule and assign it as a baseline to my current schedule which means I have a copy of one baseline for each month. I want to avoid making copies. Is there a way to work around this?

J S,

From reading your post, am I right in assuming that you are making a copy of your schedule each month to update?  Then you are assigning the agreed baseline to the new copy of the schedule?  If this is correct may I suggest that you keep the 'master' copy complete as this will retain the baseline copy.  Prior to you performing your monthly update, if you need to make a backup copy, simply XER a copy to your current schedule to the project archive.  Alternatively, you could save a baseline which will be retained in the EPS with the shedule.  There is no real need to keep making copies to update at the reporting period.  All you end up doing is cluttering (which will eventually impact your performance) up your database with duplicate copies of the same schedule.

Hi,

There is no such a global baseline option in P6 to be used for all the consecutive updates of a schedule at the same time. You can assign a baseline to a schedule and then unlink it by restoring to use for another one. If you need your baseline attached to all the updates of your schedule simultaneously, you must have copies of it for each schedule.
