(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?
(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.
If I have several activities with the same start and finish date, and I am sorting by Start Date, how does P6 determine the order of the activities? It doesn't seem to be alphabetical after start date, is there any way I can change the order of activities which have the same start dates?

If start date are the same, P6 will by default order by activity id.
to change this go to view > group & sort > sort
Use 'add' to include a second sort rule to be applied when start dates are equal
