Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear PPs
In P5 and P6 one can not add a percentage completion to any activity without indicating the actual start date...this is logical
however in P3, you add whatever percentage, even 100% complete without having to specify the actual start or finish.
My question is, what adverse effect this has on the schedule (adding 100% complete without actuals)
thanks in advance

Although P3 allows entry of % completion even without the specified actual dates, I guess P3 users never do such a thing in the schedule as one will noticeably be viewing a dangling blue colored bar beyond the data date. To answer the question;

Adverse effect on the schedule:
- You will unnecessarily consume the resource allocation of the activity which will affect as well the program’s cost calculations.

Adverse effect on the planner:
- You will be tagged as a "STUPID PLANNER".

Cheers!!!
