Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi everybody

I recently exported a project from P6 to P5 and discovered that the total budgeted cost of the project in P5 is less than that of the parent P6 project. Any one knows how this can be remedied?

Regards,
Blaise

Hi all,

I found out that you will need to use the "Recalculate Cost Assignment" function. That resolved the problem.

Hi,
I had a similiar problem, but discovered that there was a currency misalignment. Each project was setup using a different currency and when importing the "budgeted total cost" would show a different amount.

Do you know which costs are missing, e.g. related to special activities? materials?
Can you find a criterion?
The Xer file is a text-file. You can read it with the Editor or Notepad. Do NOT use Word or any other word processing software because they would add control characters!
Can you find those costs within the file. The record layout is on your documentation cd.

Good luck!
