Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Does anybody know why P3e refuses to increment my activity ID’s based on the highlighted activity... even when I have checked that option on the global preferences.

Does anyone else have this problem.

I’m getting tired of entering 10 digit ID’s digit by digit.

Any solution would be much appreciated.

When you say ’Global Preferences’ do you mean the Defaults tab on the Projects screen? Is the increment set at 10 or some other number? Are you certain that the new Activity ID you expect to see is not already used? If you have more than one project open, are you grouping by Project or WBS?

I recall having some trouble with this several years ago but it was with multiple projects open using an earlier version than V5.
