Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I have found that after importing an XER file to Update an existing Project some logic changes occur. These have lead to loops, which hightlighted the problem otherwise I may never have discovered the logic changes.

Has anyone else found this happening? Do you know what causes the problem? How do I avoid it happening?

The only way I can trust an import is to replace the existing project but then I loose the filters on Project Codes.

It might be worth checking your Import Configuration Options. The online help on this area suggests that for the Activity Type data you need to select the ’Update Existing’ action and tick the Delete box. Unless I am mistaken this should remove any existing relationships and replace them with those in the xer file being imported.
