Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Do you know how many threads have been posted in this forum?

... at least 113 persons submitted questions about a problem in a single PMS (Primavera Management Softwares). Is it too much for a $3,000 software? What do you think???

Probably Primavera Support is not good enough... or it is simple or faster to solve a problem in a forum. Some persons can tell you that you do not know how to use PMS and you need a trainning... This is not the real solution to problems. If I pay a lot of $$$ for a "good" software, also I expect the software makes the work easier.

That isn’t the case with PMS. What can you tell about a company with some management softwares, and these softwares can’t be compatible between them? It’s ridiculous.

Take Microsoft as an example. Probably their management software is not the best, but at least it is compatible with other programs and it is not too expensive.

It’s a reality that Primavera have problems with thier softwares. Numbers can tell you so. A lot of questions = a lot of problems. Or all of us (customers) are a bunch of ignorants that must take a trainning to use PMS.

Primavera needs to improve their platform and their vision. I feel that Primavera is doing a research with me but also I have been financing the research. I feel that I have a "placebo" as a management software.

Can you express your feelings??? What do you think???

Why microsoft have to run training course to certify their network specialist you wonder why??

"Ok, every software developer has to get training and make some persons "specialist" to solve problems. I’m not saying Microsoft is perfect; neither is I trying to defend them. Every software has it problems, but Primavera does a Home Run. It is not the quantity of questions about PMS, it’s the time passed between every question."

Software is only a tool, the user is the driver - That have to be clear, don’t blame the tool if you cannot drive it.

"Take this as an example, if you are taking a class or training and anyone in the group can understand what the professor or teacher is saying, who is wrong, the teacher or the students??? That is the same case as PMS. The teacher (PMS) is asking us (students) for information, as a real exam. We answer with the knowledge acquired with the teacher but the results aren’t what we expected. Who is wrong, all of us or PMS???"


Day 1 of my implementation of a PMS, I said to the senior management, have a PMS do not equal to a total Project Management Solution, Process, procedure, people is far more important like having a wrong driver in a right car.

"Do you have knowledge about Ford Explorer’s Firestone tires problem? The case was that drivers had many accidents by car’s tires fault. Ford expended some million dollars to replace Firestone tires for others to prevent accidents. Now, what do you think, the driver was wrong or was the car? I don’t think the driver was in the right car”


Compatibility - SQL & Oralce is the most common DB in the market??

"Try to export a project from Primavera P3 to Primavera P3e and tell me what happen. Both softwares are from Primavera, the difference is only the last "e" in the product name and the result is something strange".


A good CM should elminate lot of the problem and issue in the first place.
