Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hightlight some activities.

To cloud out between two dates for the entire programme:
Form the menu choose ’View’; ’Attachment Tools’.
Click on the bottom right tool (two verticals with a squiggle across them).
Click in the bar area and drag to the right.
You now have a shaded area and the dates can be adjusted with the ’handles’ mid way down the screen.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sundar,

You can format the bar of particular activities to change colour and or pattern by selecting the activities then format > selected bars> modify bar format.
Hope this helps.

Hi Sundar,

For question #2:
1- U should have a cloud bitmap because P3 doesn’t have any, if u have MS Word then u can find one from the Clip Art (click on Insert-->Clip art and search with keyword: Cloud).
2- Once u got the bitmap from MS Word, copy/paste it in Paint and save it as .bmp (Monochrome Bitmap).
3- Open the schedule in which u want to add the cloud, click on "Insert"-->"Object", 2 windows appear cancel the one titled "Insert Object".
4- Now in the other window (titled "Tools"), click on button showing Triangle, Circle & square (it is used for inserting objects like bitmaps and text).
5- Once pressed, click anywhere in the Gantt Chart area, a window titled "Primavera Symbol Selection" appears, change the "List of File Types" to "Bitmap Files .bmp" and browse to the cloud.bmp which u have saved earlier.’
6- Once selected, it appears in the Gantt Chart, resize it and move to define the activities u want.

That’s all!

Regards,
Karim
