Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello planners,

I am using P3.1 and looking to reduce the number of activities in my schedule. Therefore is there is a way to link one schedule to another with one hammock activity only? What are your suggestions/solutions in this regard?

Regards,

hello,

"Interproject Relationships" is what you are looking for.

password: INTRPROJ

it is located under:

P3PROGS\INTRPROJ.EXE

please read the related help files BEFORE doing any changes.
Always write the changes down, link between milestones clearly defined as "linked/from". If you don’t do this, after some time, you will forget they are there and wonder (possibly spending hours in the process) why the schedule is acting weird.

hope this helps.

Gün :)

Hi,

thank you for your reply. I want to create a hammock activity in one program then to link this activity to an external program. My purpose is to reduce the number of activities of the program that I submit to the Engineer Representative. "Interproject" offers the option to link 2 programs with a FS link. I will keep trying and let you know.

Hi Ghassan,
Do you mean reduce the number of activities by linking to your other schedules and thus reducing repetition?
If so can your other schedules be sub-projects and then link with milestones, I haven’t used/considered a hammock but the milestones work well.
Cheers.

If they are sub-projects of the same project group this isnt a problem.

I have never tried to use interproj for hammocks, but i imagine it wouldnt work.
