Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear Friends

I come across with a problem resulting from driving activities.

The activities that have actual start and finish dates drice their successor activities since their predecessors are not actual.

Let me explain wit a simple example

C200 Construction / P200 Procurement Phase-2 / P100 Procurement Phase-1

P200 drives its successor C200 altough P200 has actual start and finish dates. However P200’s predecessor P100 is not actual.

Your advice regarding the issue will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Osman

Hi There,

On your case,

If you run the schedule, you will see some messages like,

a) Activity started, predecessor has not finished.
b) Activity started too early to allow it to finish after the expiration of its predecessor’s lag.

etc. etc... on the Scheduling Report Page.

That means there are some relationship problems on your current schedule.

Solution:
1) Ignore it
2) If your client accepts, change those activities relationship logic.

Osman,

Re-schedule and/or modify the link between those activities to reflect the current status/situation, or use Progress Override option.
