Hello Fellow,

Here I do have (shall I say problem) on how to reflect the weight factor of each activity in my programme in P3. I did created a column named Wt. Factor but experienced difficulties on how to set - up the calculation automatically. (Budget MH per activity divided by Total MH times 100)

Is there anybody experience this? May I know the key on how to do it. Well we can actually do this in excel format but its the client required so I am trying to manipulate my programme but to no avail.

Thanks.

Ronald

Hello Mr. Ronald Quilao,
Well you can do one thing for weightage factor Follow this method.

Suppose you have resource loaded programme and you know the budgeted quantity of the resource manhours.

If you want to do it automatically, Insert a new resource Manhours and insert the total manhours for the activity.

Once you get total manhours. remove the rest of the resources from the programme and just keep MHRS as the resource. Of make a copy of the resource loaded programme.
This will create a new schedule with only resource manhours. U can set it up as target to the complete resource loaded programme and then update it automatically of actuals to get the spended value against the expected value.
You can summarize the programme using summarization rule of resource units.

Regards,

Amit

Thank you guys!

Actually I already did those...in excel format...that was easy...but the client don’t want that method either.

I did tried also the Global Change but to no avail...maybe because the system has a difficulty in analysing or calculating my detailed entries (Multiple or rather complete (discipline) manpower)

Thanks once again.

What you need is a CDI to calculate your Weighted Man hr

However the system will not able to roll up to the format of your Layout grouping.

so what I normally do is export to excel and then calculate and display the weighting summary with the format I like

I believe that you could define a Global Change to do that. Then just execute that GC after calculating the CPM.
