Could someone tell me how many days or months it would take to do a complete project schedule (from scratch to finish) of a 3 Basement + 50 Floors building of a person having an average experience on planning & scheduling using P3? Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I clearly mentioned that it depends the level of details. But to find project completion date 20 days is ok..

You can develop activities like rafts in in 10 0r 15 zones, detailed vertcals & horizonatl of a typical floor and mutliply the duratioon eith combination of floors... core wall duration for atypical floor ,one or 2 activities for evelvators , 5- 6 actvities for external cladding and typical floor finsh will do the purpose... it will not more than 20 days.....
Cost loading , resources, loading etc... ofcourse will take time... full programm approval will take 6 month or more with many revisions....

thanks

weni,

if ur new to the trade, try to make a draft schedule as fast as you can (within one week or less).then present these schedule to the responsible persons(CM,PM,PIC,etc.).they will surely be giving a lot of comments and it will now be easier for you to take it from there. this will make the planning duration a little shorter.

Weni;

It could take even longer depending upon which team players are available to you. A superintendent would be required to really be effective. A good strong knowledge of the construction drawings is req’d. Are u cost loading/resource loading the sched? What about enigneering and procurement tasks. A lot depends on most of these issues.

Good Luck.
