Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi What i normally do is (i dont know it is fully correct or not correct me if im wrong) i keep a copy of target separatly and insert an activity (Delay due to realase or so.....) duration will be equal to delay duration and will link with the successor. It will push the activity and if it is on critical path project end date wil push.. later we copare with actual update (early finish date of that particular activity) if the above delay finish date is later than early finish we will ask for extenison (cumilative with many like this small samlll delay - some time we do play with logic also,,lol!!)

It would be very helpful if you’re able to log all items that you consider will have a time impact on your project schedule.
Usually these chain of event will be reflected on your current schedule and compared with your baseline schedule.
Client always tries to decline any EOT claims, therefore it is required to present this event as it happens. Otherwise you’ll go into the long process of arbitration.
This only shows the importance of preplanning to establish the project methodology and incoporate it in the schedule (baseline)logic.

Hi
First you need to create an Entitlement programme which will be the modified baseline programme with effects of delays inserted where applicable. then, against the Entitlement programme, define the Baseline as one target and the updated programme as at that date as another target. Once you have all 3 programmes columns shown, do a time impact analysis obejectively by studying
1. What was planned?
2. What actually happened on site?
3. Therefore am i entitled to the delay or not?
You can refer to documentation on Delay Analysis by searching on the web and you will get many articles

Dear Alagan
First off we have to clear it delays due to lake of progress achioving or some other factors such as bad weather etc.
The analysis can be done only if plan
is detail resource loaded such as manpower / equipment / material and agreed milestones was set.
Then we have to compare the current plan with target/baseline and verify the claim of contractor is due to lake of any resources that is the responsibilty of client. In this case we can verify it request to extension in time.
This is only a general overview but you should keep in mind the extension in time will result in the over budgeting of project.
