Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

What is the easiest way to progress a large number of activities in one go ?

(for example progressing all erect scaffolding work to 100% in the pre-shutdown phase of a turnaround)

I am familiar how it works to progress one activity, but manually clicking through 50 scaffolding activities is preferrably not the way to go.

I would agree with Zoltan's last comment! It is unlikely that they were all started & completed exactly as per plan.

For only 50 activities, I would just update manually so that you can update the start & finish dates / times as required.

Depending on the size of the Turnaround & the level of detail in the plan, it is likely that you will need to update more than this most days & they will not all be the same trades so not as easy to filter.

How you capture progress during the Turnaround is critical in how long this takes to complete each day, so worth spending time getting this right before the Turnaround starts.

you can do it 2 ways

option #1 export to excel and thne populate then import to p6

option #2

filter for all of the scaffolding activites and select

tools Update progress then select Selected activities only

the problem that you have with doing it this way is that it assumes that all of the scaffolding in this filter started and completed on schedule (that NEVER happens)
