Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

import/export activity code

Dear All,

I'm preparing the schedule by system, using activity code. there are thousands of system and subsystem, are there any quick way to import/export the activity code from excel.

this is a 2 step process

step 1 is buildign the activity code dictionary. The fastest way to build this is by using SDK

step 2 is populating the activites with the proper code value. The fastes way to do this is to export all of the activities along with the code fields  and then populate the code value fields in excel and import the excel file back into p6

However if you want to transfer activity codes from a project to another you can use update baseline function in P6
