Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

P6 Create New database

Hi folks,

I'm an IT engineer who has been landed with a SQL Primavera P6 (6.2.1) database server and no training or experience. I need to create a new Primavera database on our network SQL server and I'm hoping if someone on here can point me in the direction of the correct documentation on how to do this or if there is a P6 (6.2.1) SQL DB creation utility?

I have all the original disks but I can't find any utility on the disks for database creation only the client applications. Any assitance would be very helpful

I actually found the dbsetup batch file in the Primavera P6 client applications disk only minutes after posting this query so I now have my answer.

 

for anyone else in teh same position as me it's located in the database folder and called dbsetup
