Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I have always used 8hrs/day calendar but I just got a project that requires a 24/7 calendar. The way 24hrs/day calendar works in P6 really throws me offguard.

In 8hrs/day calendar, work starts at 8am and ends at 5pm on the same day. The successor activty starts at 8am the next day. I was hoping the same situation would apply to 24hrs/day calendar. In 24hrs/day calendar, work start 12am day1 and ends 12am day2. The successor activity starts 12am day2 and ends 12am day3.

I really want work to start and finish on the same day instead of shifting to the next day. Does anyone have a solution to this or any suggestion?

just select the canned 7x24 calendar from the global calendar click on detailed work hours/day and you will see its full 24 hours. Also go to edit users preferences and make you durations show in 2 decimals and make sure that your durations are not fractions of a day. Also under time units make sure that the hours/day is 24 not 8
