Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi everyone,

I've had a quick search but couldnt find anything. What are the different levels of access you can grant to a user? Basically My manager has asked me if its possible to restrict an account so the user can only edit % complete or remaining duration etc. without causing any damage (deleteing things etc.)

Are there set levels or is it a more customable thing?

Thanks for the help guys

Tom

once you create the profiles that you want you can assign specific rights for each of the profiles that you have created and choose which profile can create, assign,  or just view individual elements within that profile

Thanks for the reply!

Ive had a play with those and I can get a user account set up with certain priviledges but I think its a job for someone with a bit more knowledge in the matter than me

Thanks again

I haven't used them personally, but have a look at "Admin" > "Users" (set User name(s), passwords & profiles.

Also "Admin" > "Security Profiles" to set levels of access for each profile.

You should be able to add a restricted profile and then create a general User profile (eg "User" & no password) for people who want to go in to the programme and look/interogate it.

Hope that helps.
