Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

I have assigned manhours in the work column but the activity durations keep changing when I change the manhr value, how can I avoid changing activity duration?

Hi Raf,

There is an unbreakable link in Automatically Scheduled tasks. So if you change any of these parameters after you have initially created the Task, it will affect the others.

If you change the Task Type to: Manually Scheduled. Make the Required changes and then remember to change back to Automatically Scheduled, you should find that you were able to change just the field expected, without breaking anything else.

Did this solve your problem?

Kind regards,

Phil

One more question;

when I change the activity duration the manhrs assigned change automatically, how can I avoid this?

Raf,

Change the Task type from Fixed Units (the default) to Fixed Duration.

Good luck, tom
