Manually changing remaing durations

Question: What is causing us to have to input six or seven times a remaining duration. Example: we want to show RD as 5 days, however, when we input, in comes up as 3.66. Then we put 5 days again and we get 3.97. This goes on until we finally get MP to show 5. Can anyone help us resolve this?

try to check your default hours per day in Project Options. Your default setting should match with your project calendar.
