(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?
(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.
hi, I'm an undergrad Mechanical Engineer and I'm having a bit of trouble setting up the durations for a project I'm working on. I have the project starting on 05/12/11 and the first task has duration set to 84 days, however the task is showing as complete by 01/02/12 (61 days latter). I've been trying to sort this out for about an hour and I'm starting to go nuts.
There are 20 tasks in the project with varying durations, none of which are displaying in the project window as lasting as long as they should The whole project should last a little over 4 years and its ending a little after 1, despite having 2 tasks that take over 1000 days.
I'd really appreciate some help with this.

sorry I took so long getting back her. You were right, everything pretty much went to plan afeter I got the calanders sorted out.

With such a broad programme it is almost inevitable that the original estimated durations will have nothing to do with reality - so don't take them as correct.
Your problem is most likely calendar related.
Check that your duration column is formatted to working days if your calendar is set to working days.
