There is also another way to show the cumulative number of resources.
Divide your MSP screen into 2, having the "Resource Sheet" at the top and the "Resource Graph" at the bottom.
Format your bar styles for the "Resource Graph" to be shown for "Selected Resources" (and optional: "Dont show" for "Resources").
Choose the resources you want to see the cumulative number for in the "Resources Sheet" by use of CTRL or Shift, e.g. all resources: Click first resource, hold shift down, click last resource.

MSP2007, Report, Visual Reports, same thing.
