Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

We are trying to manage the critical path on a project and there are some tasks that the project manager does not want on critical path. The first task that we tried to get off of critcal path proved to be a problem. We removed the predecessors to the task and it remained critical. We removed the successors to the task and it remained critical. It is unconstrained, un-linked, stand alone, only 7 days long in a several month project, and still remains critical. And the total slack remains at 0 no matter what we do.
What am I doing wrong?

Alexandre,
Thanks for your reply. In the interim time period between my original post and now.....I realized that when we converted the file from P3, some resource calendars came over as well. These calendars were driving activities critcal. So thanks again for the reply!
