Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Is it possible in Microsoft Project to set an activity to have zero free slack. (equivalent to the ’Zero free Float Constraint’ in Primavera)

Option ALAP in MSP is simmilar to ZFFC in P3 so valuable for You of course. But other interesting option is setting the finish date of project (instead of traditional start date project - in MSP we have only start OR only finish...). In this case MSP assume that all tasks are ALAP automatically. Meybe this way is valuable too. If You change finish date for start date you can revert (!) it for standard ASAP schedule. It is practical way in some cases, I suppose.

Good Luck
It may be used for the initial planning. But the schedule will change during project execution and these additional constraints being artificial will influence future schedules.

If you assign the task constraint ALAP then total slack as well as free float become zero, but if insert a column of free slack and then put another constraint FNET to make free slack zero.eg if task is showing 2 days free slack with current task finish date then you put FNET 2 days later then your free slack will become zero.

As you have correctly alluded to setting a task in MSP to ALAP consumes all Total Float and not Free Float as in Primavera software.

I have not found a solution.
