Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

we need a wiki here !!!!!

Dear Planner

Don’t you think it will be a wonderful idea to have a wiki in this forum, as you have noticed there are such many skilled and helpful people out there, and furthermore as there is no search capability here in PP, much valuable information are simply sunk in this crowded forum.

The wiki is excellent - well done to all the contributors to date. A hearty pat-on-the-back!

Me and Charlie?

That wud b fun!! It might take years then to complete it. His name seems to be as fake as yours. (Just kidding Anoon).

Chris,

There’s article on www.planningengineers.org regarding same. Planners V/s Schedulers.

Cheers,

Ravi

i was thinking surely its easy enough to set one up and then let whoever fancies it add to it?

ive seen so many threads about definition of a planner / scheduler, can any one help me write a hand book etc people only need to add a little bit...

on the other hand though, never mind vandlalism, perhaps peoples different interpretations of the roles and responsibilities might cause more trouble than its worth... "a planner does this", "No, they dont, a planner does this"

Vandalism can be tackled later on.

But, the thing is WHO HAS TIME TO DO ALL THINGS.

Even, with PP from last so many years, the FACE HAS NOT CHANGED.

So, its not question about vandalism, but who has time to build-up a wiki?? If anybody is going to take initiative, then there will be lot of people to help out, but need a INITIATOR.

Cheers,

Raviraj

Im sure most people that come to this website are interested in planning, if there is vandalism i would think it will be minimal?

It wont be hard to ban users that abuse the wiki and i doubt anyone would be arsed taking up new usernames and coming back for a continuous and sustained attack...?

For new implementations in the Forum, everybody should take part to his extent. Its not individual onus to do that either voluntarily.

As regards VANDALISM, I think Admin or Moderators are the best to control such things.

Wiki!!!!!! Needs time man.....

or need to be sponsored by everybody. As it will require lot of time and money (Small) off course.

Also, the problem with wiki will be it can be edited by each and everybody. Its like offering free spray cans next to the grey concrete wall, but still it will work better compared to any other forum than PP or website. Need to find a Volunteer (& Sponsor off Course) who can do this (who has ample amount of time for 3-4 months).

What if there is ..........VANDALISM??
