Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear All;

While surfing through the Planning Planet web site, how we could search the previous threads by giving only the PP Member Name?
For example, I want search the questions or the answers originated by "David Moses".
How?

Thanks

what’s about the word hot, it is a wonderful example of how in English you can have a lot of meaning for a single word depends of the sentence.
and i am really sorry that i deceived you but i can’t write what you were expecting, i am a very shy conservative guy :)

friendly

ps: are you really working in Antarctica !!!

mimoune,

i suggest that you practise your english spelling as it is the official language of this Planet, three (3) letter word(s) is seldom used in English or has no substantial meaning, it is logical that they haven’t included it.

Yap! I test the search engine and found that any 3 letter words are not being search but it will work if combined with another words.

Hi Mimoune,

We have checked out the word you looked for. Good one!

The explanation words shown in the hints text on the search page advises that words with three letters are not searched for.

Hope this helps.

If anyone finds any problems, please let us know.

Hello Team,

We have rolled out a search function for the forum. We are sorry it took so long to organise and we hope it works ok.

Comments are welcomed to help us improve it from its simple beginnings.

Hi Clive,

That’s a good question, I wonder if PP Admin have got a good answer. A search facility is a necessary part of navigating the site and has been unavailable for some considerable time now. Perhaps a little nudge is in order.

Google Advanced Search does a pretty good job (except for the ads that are also returned).

http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en

Enter wwww.planningplanet.com in the Domain field.

Hello to All,

I in the same boat with all of us.

Search engine will help us in filtering what is necessary and meaningful thread. This will eliminate waste of time and will discourage nonsense post, immature post and irrelevant post.

This will make our day by being discriminating on the information transmitted by reliable source. It also help us eleminate reading the post from PP members seeking grandeur on their long years of experience says more than 20 years (but the way the elucidate on the issue at hand seems they don’t have any experience at all).

Specifically, i want to read and make an in-depth study to all post by Mr. Andrew and Mr Stuart.

cheers,

Charlie

Hi Team,

We have been working hard to roll out a major upgrade to the forum.  It will allow us to search all internet resources, papers, build times, forum post and job adverts etc.

We expect to roll this out to a group of testers (and volunteers) in the coming two weeks.  We are really sorry this is causing you problems.

Anyone want to offer to use the new forum to test it by posting your messages (to this live forum) via a new interface??

Thanks.

Hi There,

Since there is only a few friends are sharing this idea, it seems that only we are (a few) facing that problem!

Is this just our problem?

I agree entirely with David Moses, a forum without a search facility is very difficult to use and it has been "down" for some time now.

What is the reason I wonder

Hi There,

Since there is no reply from the Moderator I will remind you again.

Is there any possibility to activate the search engine on the Planning Planet web site?

Otherwise all new members are posting the same questions or concerns which have been discussed before.

If we could have the search engine on the the Planning Planet web site, then we would surf on the previous postings before posting it as a new concern.
