Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

Imported .xer file created in Asta Power into P6 v6.2, this changed some of the activities dates. As an example:

Site Attendances dates are Start 23/04/12 End 06/12/12 on the Asta .pdf received while the .xer is imported to P6 the dates are start 1/10/08 End 4/6/09.

How is this, something to do with calendars?

Also, is there in Asta the equivalent of P6 data date to whcih the progress should be scheduled to? All Asta programme updates received have a data date of 24/03/12 while some activities are complete with an end date post data date.

Thanks.

Importing form one product to another will usually give a different answer unless the schedules are very simple as they all have different algorithums.

It is my experiance that Asta does this far better than any of the other products but manual intervention is usually required when going from one product to another.
