Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

In my project I enter the progress of tasks using the Percent complete column. Next this I have Planned percent complete showing how much I planned to do by the current date.

What column should I use to show the difference or variance between these values?

I have tried using the Planned Percent complete variance column, but it doesn’t work as I think that it wants to compare values to a baseline, which I do not want to use.

Thanks, Laurie

OK thanks Alexandre.

I understand that really you should use baselines but was hoping for a quick solution. But if it can’t be it can’t be done.

Cheers, Laurie
