Assistant Construction Manager, Larsen & Toubro Construction Co. - Hydrocarbon Div., EPC Gathering Station and Cross Country Pipelines

Presently employed with M/s L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited, a subsidiary of M/s Larsen &Toubro Ltd.( previously known as Hydrocarbon & Pipeline division of L&T). Joined the Organization as a GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee) in 2008 and since then had gathered experience in handling various facets of the following EPC projects,

  1. (2013 to Present) As an Assistant Construction Manager – Mechanical/Planning, my key responsibilities are project coordination and contract management for various EPC projects from Company’s Regional Establishment at New Delhi.
  2. (2012 – 2013) Salaya Bhogat Pipeline Projectwhere 80 km of the same foam coated 24” Crude Oil Line has been laid from the Salaya Terminal to Bhogat Terminal and then to a mooring facility into the sea and also a 08 inch Gas line from Salaya Terminal to Bhogat Terminal for M/s Cairn Energy India Limited in the state of Gujarat – Project Value : INR 205 Cr.

Key responsibilities as a Project Planning and Control In-charge

                                              i.            Project Scheduling & progress monitoring

                                            ii.            Project Material Handling, monitoring consumption at site & preparing reconciliation statements. 

                                          iii.            Change Management – Initiating the changes/variations pertaining to the project, preparing estimates with valid backup, getting approval

                                          iv.            Contract Management, maintaining internal/external correspondences, focusing on customer satisfaction, conducting periodic review meetings with project team & customer

                                            v.            Generating MIS reports at project level

                                          vi.            Leading a project team of 30 staff with 4 staff specifically in the planning team

                                        vii.            Supervising & coordinating specialized agency for Cathodic Protection – M/s Corrtech Ltd.

Achievements

                                            i.            90 percent of project progress achieved amidst all the geo-political challenges.

                                          ii.            Reconciliation of all project bulk materials is completed with a wastage percentage within the tolerance limits.

                                        iii.            Got approval for Change orders of INR 2.6 Cr over and above the Project Value.

                                        iv.            Saved INR 14 lakhs for the company from an extra claim of INR 20 lakhs from the M/s Corrtech.

                                          v.            Recognition for quality excellence as a member of SBPL project which had won the Quality trophy for the year 2012 – 2013.

  1.  (2008 to 2010)Barmer Salaya Pipeline Project where 600 km of foam coated 24 inch Crude oil Line and 08 inch Gas line had been laid from Barmer, Rajasthan to Salaya, Gujarat for M/s Cairn Energy India Limited – Project value: INR.720 Cr.

Key responsibilities as a Project Engineer

                                            i.            Client bulk material handling – coordinating among client and site for availability of materials like linepipes, cables, etc. and reconciliation of these bulk materials.

                                          ii.            Supervising and coordinating specialized foreign coating agencies, i.e., M/s PIH and LOGSTOR.

                                        iii.            Preparing progress reports, Client invoicing.  

                                        iv.            Assisted in preparation of cost estimates for change orders.

Achievements

                                            i.            Achieved reconciliation of all materials within the accepted wastage percentage of 2%.

                                          ii.            Successfully conducted in-house training programs on the use of the specialized HDPE Sleeve Coating machines & it’s accessories at site for the local execution engineers & workmen with the help of the Expat supervisors of the Specialized Coating agency, i.e., M/s PIH so as to replace the expat supervisions with our local ones saving almost USD 450 per day, required for future works.

                                        iii.            Recognition for quality excellence as a member of BSPL project which had won the Quality trophy for the year 2008 – 2009.

                                        iv.            Got selected for BIS (Build India Scholarship) program in 2010 for pursuing post graduate degree in Construction Technology and Management from IIT Delhi
