Rajeh H. Al-Marri & Sons Co. at Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia: Cross Country Pipeline Specialists & Contractors(One of the largest Saudi owned sub-contractors to Saudi Aramco, World’s largest Petroleum Producer).

 

Lead Scheduling cum Planning & Estimation Engineer from 01-Jan-2012 till date: Functioning at the said capacity  for Shaybah NGL Pipeline Project, Saudi Aramco's Mega Project. This Lump Sum Turn Key Contract's Scope of Work consists of 36”- 633 km pipeline from NGL Plant in Shaybah to Tie-in Corridor at Abqaiq including installation of 6 Scraper Traps, 19 Valve Stations, 22 Burn-pits, 5 Major Horizontal Directional Drilled Thrust Borings, 4 Hot Tapings, Fiber Optic Cables besides entire pipeline, Electrical & Instrumentation works such as Switch Racks, Switch Gears, Leak Detection Systems, Over Head Power lines, Temporary & Permanent Catholic Protection.

 

Job Profile:

 

·      Feasibility Planning to create Project Development Strategy, in consultation with Design, Management, Procurement & Cost Control Teams.

  • Making contributions concerning the

1.     Strategy for Subcontracting, Procurement or Manufacturing,

2.     Interface between various Operations & their Participants,

3.     Maximizing Efficiency of Project Strategy with respect to Time, Cost, Opportunity & Risk Management.

·      Preparing the Master EPC Project Execution Schedule according to the Project Scope of Work, identifying quantities to schedule as per dwgs provided at bidding stage.

·      Providing planning and scheduling support required using P6 for Project Execution, identifying Work Packages. Work Breakdown Structure & analyzing Work-load, Durations with Activity Sequence based on current industry practices assisting effective control.

·      Considering equipments, primary & supportive labor resources to do each activity, productivity of each individual crew and activity durations preferably working with people responsible for executing the work, responsible to decide on number of crews required to complete the project within the stipulated mechanical completion date, taking into account the entire volume of work.

·      Ensuring Project Execution Schedule covers the complete scope at Summary level, illustrating broad strategies for executing all the works to achieve within the required finish milestone dates, detailing for the following:

1.     Total Scope of Work,

2.     The strategy for achieving the completion dates,

3.     Critical Milestone Dates,

4.     Engineering Interface dates,

5.     Procurement Interface dates,

6.     Commissioning Dates.

·      Planning & Scheduling the activities with regard to Contract Duration Estimate, Cost Estimate & Change Order Administration with Reviews for Cost Impacts.

·      Estimating & Summarizing the cost of work as defined in the Scope & Schedule C.

·      Schedule updating in P6 on weekly basis, highlighting the Progress Trend & Recovery Strategies whenever Slippages occur.

·      Preparing Recovery Schedules when slippage is heavy, opting for Fast Tracking & Crashing with the Cost Impact.

·      Revising the schedule to reflect the changes in the scope of work as & when required, high lighting the required approval for Mile Stone Extensions & possible project handing over date.

·      Deciding on data gathering & reporting formats with frequency of their timing etc.

·      Coordination with procurement department for timely supply of Project Materials for uninterrupted construction progress.

·      Supervising, analyzing & submitting Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports including that of 2-week look ahead forecast, status of critical activities, resource histograms, plan vs actual progress s-curves using P6 data to top management aiding proper in-time decisions & interactions with clients & subcontractors.

·      Verifying subcontractors' invoices for quantities being claimed and approving for further payments.

·      Monitoring Monthly Earned Value Reports for Invoicing, ensuring that monthly invoices are in line with the project's overall performance % & contractual payment terms.

·      Ensuring monthly invoices along with saudization reports are prepared, submitted & get approved in time, for progress payment collection.

·      Regular analysis of Project Schedule, studying problem areas that may affect the Milestone dates; demonstrating the project status at project review meetings with Monthly Forecast & Cash Flow Projections.

·      Assisting in directing to implement the project as per the allotted budgeted cost for each line item; guiding budget development, cost forecasts & cost variance reports; analyzing cost capturing data such as man-hours, labor cost, materials cost, equipment hours & utilization cost, contract expense to keep a check on cost variations.

·      Preparing plan & work direction as required in planning and scheduling standard practices to provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction supervisors the means to evaluate the progress in executing the assigned projects.

·      Providing staffing guidance to Engineering and Construction supervisors by analyzing and evaluating all relevant and pertinent data.

·      Discuss, coordinate and resolve long term and short term planning and scheduling issues with personnel throughout the company and with contractor organizations.
