2006 – 2007             Lead Project Planner

 

Leading a small team of planners providing detailed fully cost loaded programmes to London Underground (LU), for Metronet Rail Limited (MRL). This was as part of the additional works programme based at Derbyshire house. This section worked on a number of programmes outside the main Public Private Partnership contract, covering everything from small signalling works to full scale station refurbishments.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading a team of four project planners
  • Personally covering 10+ programmes; from bid to financial close (£20 million)
  • Completing full monthly project reports, with costs, EV information CPI/SPI
  • Project submissions to LU for review
  • Working with project managers to deliver programmes
  • Meeting with LUL to provide updates on progress
  • Working with contractors to ensure delivery of their programmes to Metronet Rail Limited

 

This was a new role in a new industry (Rail) and gave the opportunity to learn some new skills including completing primavera P3 courses (basic and advanced) Also being the main point of contact for planning for the business unit.
